The road clearing inspection team of the Municipality of Candelaria composed of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) and Municipal Traffic Management Group (MTMG), scheduled the periodic inspection along the municipality's main thoroughfares, public market and talipapa joints in Barangays Poblacion and Catol on January 14, 2021.
This undertaking aimed to ensure and amplify the LGU's compliance with the road clearing directives of the national government setting November 16, 2020 until January 15, 2021 for the local government units (LGUs) to comply as stipulated in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-145.
Prior to the end of the 60-day period, Mayor Napoleon E. Edquid ordered the inspection and road clearing of the said areas to ensure the achievement of the goal to clear identified areas of concern in the municipality.
Likewise, the sixteen (16) component barangays have conducted their respective road clearing operations to further step up the municipality's compliance. Punong Barangays led and supervised their Barangay Inspection Teams (BITs) to ensure successful implementation of the policy down to the barangay roads and report their actions taken to the DILG.
The municipal and barangay inspection teams observed minimum health standards as they have resumed their road clearing operations.
The Municipality of Candelaria is retained under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) classification and is directed to observe 'full implementation' of the directive provided by DILG MC 2020-145.
