Twelve personnel of DILG R-III completed on October 23, 2020, the three-day Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training held via Zoom video conferencing platform facilitated by the Ateneo Bulatao Center for Psychological Services.
Said training served as the concluding activity to the program "Mental Wellness Series: Rediscovering Selves amid the Pandemic towards Sound Mental Health" initiated by the Office to assist in assessing the well-being and addressing the challenges of the DILG R-III employees.
Ms. Avy Acosta and Mr. Von Guintu, both registered psychologist, served as the resource persons for the activity. They taught the principles, steps, and techniques in providing Psychological First Aid—an approach not specific to medical practitioners.
The 12 trained personnel are set to conduct PFA periodically or whenever an employee is in need of said intervention.
Along with this, DILG R-III is set to establish its mental health committee and support team for its personnel to ensure that they maintain sound mental health and to guarantee that no one from among the employees feel that he/she is left unheard.
