The Department of the Interior and Local Government Angeles City and the Association of Barangay Secretaries met on February 14, 2019 to discuss DILG Memorandum Circular 2018-194 regarding the 2018 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB).
In his message, City Director Martin Porres Moral appreciated all barangay secretaries for a job well done in 2018 and challenged them to get the prestigious Barangay SGLG. "Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat dahil sa kabila ng mga trabahong ibinababa namin sa inyo, nandiyan parin kayo at patuloy na sumusuporta sa mga adbokasiya ng ating pamahalaan mapa illegal na droga o manila bay. Hinahamon ko kayo na ipasa ninyo ang Barangay SGLG dahil ito ang magiging sukatan ng paglilingkod ng ating mga pinuno at pagganap ng ating barangay", said CD Moral.
The Barangay SGLG, just like the SGLG for the Province, City and Municipality will measure the level of public service and Good Governance of Barangay Officials covering the three (3) Core Areas and Three (3) Essential Areas namely: 1.) Peace and Order, 2.) Financial Administration, 3.) Disaster Preparedness, 4.) Social Protection, 5.) Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness and 6.) Environmental Management.
Barangays must pass the minimum requirement of "3+1" principle or three Core areas and one of the Essential Areas to be conferred as SGLGB Passer.
Also discussed in the meeting were the upcoming 2018 BADAC Functionality Audit and the observance of the Weekly Conduct of Clean-Up Drive relative to the Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program. During the meeting, CY 2018 top performing barangay secretaries in terms of reports submission were also awarded.
