SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE- As the Provincial Government of Pampanga moves to strengthen the Peace and Order campaign in the province, a two-day seminar-workshop on the implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) or the barangay justice system was conducted on December 10-11, 2018 with the members of the priority Lupong Tagapamayapa in each city and municipality as participants.

 The objective of the activity was to re-orient the members of the selected Lupon on the implementation of KP or the barangay justice system following the recent barangay elections which resulted to a number of newly-elected barangay officials.

Further, the 2-day training also aimed to capacitate the identified Lupons for the upcoming Lupong Tagapamayapa Incetives Awards (LTIA) in 2019. The LTIA is the annual recognition for the Lupon with the most efficient, effective and reliable implementation of the barangay justice system.

In the said activity, the participants took a refresher on the History and Scope of KP, Procedural Aspect and methods for Amicable Settlement.

Hon. Renato L. Mutuc, President of the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) Provincial Federation, graced the event and shared insights on his experiences in the implementation of KP, being a consistent Regional LTIA winner.

"Tayo sa barangay ang dapat manguna sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan sa ating mga lugar. Sa pamamagitan ng KP, mas mabilis ang pag-aayos ng gusot at masisiguro nating mapayapa at ligtas ang ating mga barangay", BM Mutuc said.
