The 2018 Barangay Newly-Elected Officials (BNEO) Program towards Grassroots Renewal and Empowerment for Accountable and Transparent (GREAT) Barangays Program is designed to meet the challenges of reinvigorating the political and administrative leadership at the community and barangay level, and to prepare barangays and their officials in actively fulfilling their roles and their relevance to development. Currently, the DILG Field Offices take the lead in the implementation of the Component B of the said program which is the Jumpstarting Local Governance slated from July to October 2018.
Along with the implementation of the BNEO for Grassroots Empowerment towards Accountable and Transparent (GREAT) Barangays Program, is the on-going attendance to the BNEO Webinar Online Course of the barangay official enrollees in the region.
In order to effectively monitor the progress and evaluate/assess the learnings both on the BNEO face-to-face trainings and on the online lessons, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III, led by Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag, conducted the Regional, Provincial and City Facilitators Assessment cum Output Review of BNEO Webinar Enrollees last September 10, 2018 at LGRRC, DILG Regional Office III, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The activity was actively participated by the regional, provincial and City BNEO Focal persons.
This activity's objective was to have an update on the status of implementation and the completion progress of the BNEO Webinar enrollees per province/HUC through the online platform. Aside from that, the activity served as a venue to further capacitate the provincial/city focal persons with the knowledge on how to evaluate/assess the BNEO online course completion of Region 3 participants. Lastly, the activity was a way to discuss and identify strategies to address issues, concerns and problems encountered in the course of the BNEO implementation both for face-to-face training and online course.
