In preparation for the National Knowledge Forum on Best Practices in Local Governance in November, DILG Region 3, in partnership with the Office of Project Development Services (OPDS), conducted the Verification and Validation of LGU Awardees on September 3-7, 2018.
The Municipalities of Anao, Tarlac, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, Sta. Ana, Pampanga, Llanera, Nueva Ecija, and Pilar, Bataan were shortlisted as Region 3's top performers when it comes to timeliness, quality management, sustainability, transparency, funds management, and innovation.
Water Supply, Local Access Roads, and Disaster Risk Reduction and Other Infrastructure projects were assessed based on the aforementioned criteria. Aside from the review and assessment of documentary requirements, the activity also involved site visits of BuB and ADM projects and interviews with project beneficiaries to carefully select the LGU awardees.
The chosen LGUs will be awarded during the National Knowledge Forum in Metro Manila where they could showcase their best practices, discuss the challenges, and share the strategies undertaken in the implementation of BuB and ADM projects.
Hence, this activity is not only about the recognition of LGUs but it also aims to improve the implementation of governance reforms to enhance and speed up the delivery of public service.
