The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan Provincial Office, in line with the Department's goal to prevent and curb the proliferation of illegal drugs, as well as prepare the barangays to be partners of the national government in this endeavor, brings forth the Strengthening of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) held on August 29 and 30, 2018 at the Bulwagan ng Bayan, Dinalupihan, Bataan.
The event was headed by DILG Provincial Director Myra B. Moral-Soriano, CESO V and was attended by MLGOOs, Punong Barangays and Barangay Secretaries or SB Kagawad, Chair on Peace and Order. It was also graced by the PDEA Bataan Chief IA3 Marlou Ordoña and IO1 Joe Patrick Lingan who served as speakers for the activity.
The Strengthening of BADAC was specifically parted into two batches to cater all 237 barangays aside from the 60 that were initially targeted for Bataan. This was an initiative done at the Provincial Level to ensure that all barangays are properly equipped and knowledgeable towards their compliance to implement Barangay Drug Clearing Program and ensure the continued performance of the ADACs in the fight against the drug menace.
Also, this serves as their preparation for the upcoming BADAC Functionality Performance Audit. Further, it is important to take note that according to PDEA, Bataan is one of the provinces in Region 3 with 100% organized BADAC. The province is also ranked first in the region in terms of percentage having 89 out of 237 barangays declared as drug-cleared.
Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano thanked and acknowledged the participants and guests for their presence in the said activity. In her message, she stressed the importance of the duties and responsibilities of each and everyone involved towards the success of the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the government.
