The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Province Bataan conducted the Provincial Orientation on Peace and Order Councils (POCs) Performance Audit Process for POC Members and Secretariat on August 23, 2018, at Lou-is Restaurant, City of Balanga, Bataan.


The activity headed by DILG Provincial Director Myra B. Moral-Soriano, was attended by the C/MLGOOs, Chiefs of Police and members or representatives of the City and Municipal Peace and Order Councils in the province. PSSupt Marcelo Dayag, Provincial Director of PNP Bataan and Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion of Mariveles also graced the said event.


The orientation was conducted to make sure that all Provincial, City and Municipal POCs in Bataan are prepared for the performance audit scheduled on September-October 2018, especially on the indicators, protocols, forms and rating procedures of the assessment. 2017 results shall be used for profiling and benchmarking purposes. Said results will be utilized in assessing the POCs and for the enhancement of the program in the following years.


Also highlighted in the activity are the five (5) pillars or the POC Performance Audit criteria namely Organization, Meeting, Policies/Plan/Budget, Reports, and Innovation.


Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano thanked and acknowledged the participants for attending the said orientation. In her message, PD Moral-Soriano emphasized the importance of the assessment in the administration's fight against illegal drugs, criminality, and insurgency.


The POC Performance Audit was introduced by the Department through the Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS) to help strengthen the functionality of the POCs. Incentives and recognition may be provided to the most functional POCs in the succeeding years. (LGOO V Allan Don Malonzo)
