Fire Director Ariel Barrayuga, CEO VI, led the Top Management and Fire Officers from different units gathered together to witness the turn-over of the 480 housing units from the National Housing Authority (NHA), located at Pandi Heights, Cacarong Matanda, Pandi, Bulacan, on April 21, 2015. Secretary Mar A. Roxas was represented by Undersecretary for Public Safety Peter Irving Corvera.
According to the NHA Representative for Uniformed Personnel Arch. Susan Nonato, the “Handog Pabahay sa mga Bumbero” is under the Community Approach Program of the NHA. The project for the BJMP/BFP has a total land area of 7.2 hectares with 800 housing units and divided into 40% is for the BJMP and 60% for the BFP. Average size of lot is 40 square meters with floor area of 18 sq.m. The total package cost is 208,000.00 but the qualified Fire officer will pay 173,000.00 only for 15 years, on a monthly basis.
AFP-PNP housing program primarily aims to provide decent housing to the uniformed personnel including the BJMP and BFP and their beneficiaries. On the message by the SILG which USEC Corvera read, he emphasized the importance of the fire officers in providing heroic services to the citizenry. Also, he stressed that the government is true to its commitment “Kaya’t walang iwanan sa Tuwid na Daan”.
Also gracing the occasion are the Sangguniang Barangay of Cacarong Matanda, Sangguniang Bayan of Pandi, DILG Provincial Director Darwin D. David together with Cluster Team Leader Lydia M. Baltazar, MLGOO Marilyn C. Ochoa, PNP Chief of Police Senior Inspector Victor Bernabe and other stakeholders.
