To strengthen environmental law enforcement at the grassroots level, the Provincial Assessment Committee (PAC) of Bataan held the 2024 Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA) on September 10, 2024, at the Bunker in Balanga City.
The PAC, led by DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESO V, and key agencies such as DENR-PENRO, PG-ENRO, OPA-Bataan, PIA Bataan, and BPSU-OM RICC, evaluated the barangays to select the top performers. These top barangays will move on to represent Bataan in the regional competition, competing in both city and municipal categories. The PAC was assisted by Program Manager Danilyn Peña, LGOO V Joana Marie Cruz, ADA VI Joseph Castro and ADA IV Rhejean Calbone.
BECA, developed under the Manila Bay Clean-up, Preservation, and Rehabilitation Program (MBCRPP), assesses barangays' adherence to the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000. This program underscores Bataan's commitment to fostering sustainability and promoting environmental stewardship throughout its communities.
