As an important step in strengthening the capacity of LGUs to deliver effective and responsive services for children, the Provincial Inter-agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) conducted a provincial table validation of this year's functionality assessment at the PSWDO Office, Capitol Compound on April 18, 2023.

The PIMTF is composed of representatives from DILG, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Health Office, Department of Education, and ABSNET, as the representative of civil society organizations. During the validation, the PIMTF assessed the documents and means of verification (MOVs) submitted by the C/MCPCs for the assessment year 2022.

The assessment criteria were based on the DILG MC No. 2021-039, which covers four major areas: Organizational Sustainability; Policies and Plans for Children; Budget for C/MCPC; and Service Delivery Monitoring and Management for Children.

The LCPC is an institutional mechanism in all levels of LGUs that advocates for child rights, plans and recommends interventions, and monitors children's programs and projects in the locality. Through this council, local governments can engage with stakeholders, including civil society organizations and community members, to ensure that the needs and rights of children are met.
