Baler, Aurora – June 10, 2025 – In a continued effort to ensure the quality, timeliness, and compliance of infrastructure projects, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Aurora Provincial Project Monitoring Team (PPMT), together with the Local Government Unit Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC), conducted another progress inspection of an ongoing road project currently facing implementation delays.
The monthly inspection, part of intensified monitoring efforts for projects deemed at risk, was led by LGOO VI Mary Joyce T. Bautista. She was joined by Engr. III Rosanna C. Hernandez and Engr. II Kenny Jean N. Iniwan, along with LGU functionaries and representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
As of the latest evaluation, the road project is nearing 90% completion. However, previous phases revealed negative slippage and delays, prompting the imposition of liquidated damages against the contractor in accordance with existing government procurement and project implementation policies.
Following the field inspection, an exit conference was held with the LPMC and the contractor. During the meeting, the DILG team presented their observations and provided recommendations to address remaining issues and ensure the successful completion of the project in line with national standards and specifications.
This initiative reflects the DILG’s strong commitment to transparent and accountable project monitoring, aimed at delivering high-quality infrastructure that meets the needs of local communities.
