In a significant step toward national peace and reconciliation, six former rebels received financial assistance under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) on October 2, 2024 at Peace and Development Center, ARESCOM Building, Brgy. Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora.
The simple awarding ceremony was led by DILG Aurora’s Provincial Director, Ener P. Cambronero and Cluster Team Leader Ariel G. Espinosa together with Executive Assistant Reynante K. Tolentino Jr. from the Governor’s Office, LTC Aries L Quinto, Acting Commanding Officer of the 91st IB, PLTCol Jun S. Dela Cruz, APPO Representative, Ms. Camay Joy D. Bernardo from the PSWDO and Pastor Noel Bornales of the Adventist Community Services. Each of the former rebels received Immediate and Livelihood Assistance ranging from Php 15,000.00 up to a total amount of Php 65,000 which will help them establish new livelihoods and meet their essential needs as they transition back into mainstream society.
The E-CLIP is a program administered by the DILG and the Department of National Defense designed to aid the reintegration of former rebels and provide financial support and resources for those who have chosen to leave behind their past and start anew. As these six individuals begin their journey toward reintegration, their story becomes a symbol of hope for others. Through programs like E-CLIP, the government continues to encourage more rebels to embrace peace, giving them the opportunity to rebuild their lives and contribute to the nation's development.
