On August 16, 2024 at Sabang Beach, Baler, Aurora, the DILG Aurora officially launched “Plogging sa Baybayin: Kalusugan ay Unahin, Kapaligiran ay Linisin!”, an Advocacy Campaign fostering healthy lifestyle, clean environment, and a drug-free community.
This initiative aims to start a plogging movement in Aurora to cultivate a healthy lifestyle through outdoor exercises while simultaneously caring for our environment in support of the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program. Likewise, it is envisioned to be a proactive approach under the Prevention and Health Promotion Pillar of the Buhay Ingatan Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Program that can divert the attention of the vulnerable sectors from illegal drugs and encourage them to fully focus on their well-being and to the positive contributions they can make to their respective communities.
To encourage the active participation of other agencies, local governments, different sectors of the community and further the reach of the advocacy drive, PD Ener P. Cambronero, DILG Provincial Director, urges in his message:
"... ang bawat isa ay itinuturing na katuwang sa makabuluhang pagbabago, pagsasabuhay ng bayanihan spirit, pagiging isang disiplinadong mamamayan lalo na sa kalinisan. Hindi lamang ito responsibilidad ng mga barangay officials kundi ng lahat ng mamamayan.”
The program was successfully launched in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Aurora represented by Atty. Lyonnel S. Aragon, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Sabang and Buhangin, Adventist Community Services-Aurora Chapter, Aurora Police Provincial Office, and Bureau of Fire Protection Aurora.
