In the observance of the 2024 National Disaster Resilience Month, SK Officials, youth leaders and DRR personnel from the eight municipalities of Aurora took part in the Wemboree: Disaster Resiliency Youth Camp on July 15-16, 2024 at the Provincial Evacuation Center, ATC Compound, Barangay Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora.
On its third consecutive year, the WEmboree: A Disaster Resiliency Youth Camp was organized by the Provincial Government of Aurora PDRRMO, in partnership with DILG, through its LGRC Tambuli, and other different national government agencies such as BFP Aurora, AFP 91st IB, Philippine Army, and the Philippine Coast Guard to enhance the leadership skills and efforts of the youth towards cohesive action in achieving the visions anchored on various DRRM-CCA government policies.
The DRR exercise, which is a part of the Department's Operation LISTO program, also provided a platform for fostering youth volunteers, maximizing their involvement, and unlocking their potential to contribute to local disaster risk reduction and management.
Over the course of two days, the youth participated in a variety of organized learning exercises aimed at fostering their leadership skills and dedication to implementing concerted efforts to achieve the objectives outlined in the various DRRM-CCA government programs. The bucket relay, fire suppression drills, and basic life support are a few examples of these simulation and practical activities.
