Aiming to uphold its commitment to promote excellence in local governance, the DILG Aurora prepares the Provincial Government of Aurora and its component municipalities for the upcoming 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Assessments. Through its SGLG Team headed by LGOO VI Florenz Zaira B. Buenconsejo, SGLG Focal Person together with LGOO VII Ariel G. Espinosa, Cluster Team Leader, the DILG conducted comprehensive mock assessments, evaluations, and coaching sessions across various governance areas from May 7-22, 2024 to assist the LGUs on the upcoming SGLG Assessment.
The SGLG, a flagship program of the DILG, was institutionalized under Republic Act No. 11292. The Seal requires the Local Government Unit (LGU) to pass all ten (10) governance areas namely Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental management, Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and the Arts, and Youth Development, to qualify for the award.
DILG Aurora's proactive approach has significantly improved the efficiency and readiness of LGUs to maintain good governance practices to ensure quality, effective and efficient service delivery to its constituents. The Regional Assessment will take place from May 28 to June 6, 2024 in all LGUs in the Province.
