In its pilot implementation, 26 small and micro-enterprises (SMEs) in Apalit, Pampanga finally benefits from the "Nego-skwela sa Barangay" advocacy partnership project of Pampanga Multi Sectoral Advisory Committee on September 1, 2023.

Said project targets SMEs located in the barangays in order to train them on financial management in the hopes that they will be able to sustain and grow their small businesses.

 In his message, Liga ng mga Barangay Renato Mutuc said he saw the opportunity that the project offers hence he requested to bring it to Apalit. "Matututo tayo sa tamang pagnenegosyo mula sa mga successful na negosyante na nagsimula rin sa maliit", he added.

Mr. Ian Torno of Pampanga Chamber of Business, Inc (PAMCHAM) lead the discussion on applying finance in business while Ms. Marylou Ramos-Tolentino of PAMCHAM as well discussed the process on how to register the business with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

DTI Pampanga offered discount to all SME attendees and assisted them on the registration of their businesses. They also distributed sari-sari store starter packs.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Pedro C. Nucom expressed his gratitude to the MSAC for coming up to this kind of project while DILG Pampanga Provincial Director Myra B. Moral-Soriano, CESO V is hopeful that the SMEs will be able to use the learnings and boost their businesses.

Also present during the activity are representatives from Don Honorio Ventura State University and other local functionaries.
