   Four cities in Central Luzon namely: Angeles City, Balanga City, Bataan; San Jose City, Bulacan; and Palayan City, Nueva Ecija signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) R-3 and Local Government Academy (LGA) to implement the Millennium Development Goals – Family-Based Action for Children and their Environs in the Slums (MDG-FACES) Project on September 12, 2013 at Bayview Park Hotel, Manila.   

  

   A new set of Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) Region 3 Council Officers for 2013-2016 was elected and proclaimed on September 3, 2013 at Hotel Stotsenberg Clarkfield, Pampanga.     BM Michael Fermin of Bulacan was proclaimed Chairman of the Regional Council. Other officials are: Vice-Chairman Ricardo C. Yabut (Pampanga), Secretary-General Harmes S. Sambrano (Tarlac), Treasurer Felix D. Ople (Bulacan), Auditor Eduardo Rey G. Joson (Nueva Ecija), PRO Dexter B. Dominguez (Bataan) and Directors Maria Cristina C. Angeles (Tarlac), Ramon R. Posadas (Bulacan), Oscar W. Padua (Aurora), Aristotle J. Gaza (Bataan) and Rosve V. Henson (Pampanga).

 

   Upon invitation of Barangay Councilors League of the Philippines (BCLP) National President Franklyn Ong and National Secretary General Marlon Austria, DILG Region III Florida M. Dijan graced their First General Assembly on August 29, 2013 at Subic Bay Travellers Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City.  RD Dijan represented Secretary Mar Roxas as the guest speaker of the event.

    Regional Director Florida Dijan of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 3 graced the graduation ceremony of Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Training of Class 2013-01 on August 14, 2013 at Angeles City Police Office.  This batch is composed of 54 graduates from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

   The Department of the Interior & Local Government Regional Office III, in its effort to lessen the rampant population of dengue carrying Aedes mosquitoes, has initiated the setting up of the Ovicidal-Larvicidal Trap or OL Trap within its premises. The OL Trap is a project of the DOST in partnership with DepEd, DOH and DILG which is aimed in minimizing the numbers of dengue cases by eliminating dengue carrying mosquitoes at its incubation stage (larva stage) . It is to be utilized in all public elementary and high schools all over Region 3 protect students from any possible dengue outbreak.
