The Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Summit 2024, held on December 10, 2024, in Abucay, Bataan, celebrated the province’s ongoing efforts to promote and protect children’s rights.
Hon. Maria Margarita R. Roque, Sanggunian Panlalawigan Chairperson on Family, Women, and Children, opened the event by commending the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) for its relentless advocacy for children’s welfare. During the State of the Children’s Address, Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III urged leaders to raise public awareness and take proactive measures to ensure children’s welfare.
One of the event’s key moments was the Most Child-Friendly LGU Awards, where Pilar was named the Most Child-Friendly LGU, followed by Samal and Mariveles as runners-up. Plaques and cash incentives were presented by the LCPC Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) to recognize these exemplary contributions.
In her closing message, LGOO V Joanna Marie Cruz of DILG Bataan emphasized the critical role of collaboration in fostering a nurturing environment for children. She called on stakeholders to remain united in their mission to protect and empower every child.
The LCPC Summit 2024 showcased the power of collaboration and innovation, reaffirming Bataan's steadfast dedication to advancing child welfare.
