Brgy. Wawa, Abucay, Bataan — On November 9, 2024, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan, in partnership with local officials, carried out a clean-up drive at the Brgy. Wawa port area. The initiative, coordinated by LGOO VI Allan Don Malonzo and Punong Barangay Noel G. Pring, aimed to help restore and preserve the natural beauty of Manila Bay by addressing pollution in the local waterfront.
Volunteers from DILG Bataan, together with local residents, barangay officials, tanods, and BHWs, gathered early to clear debris, plastics, and other pollutants that had accumulated along the harbor. With a shared goal of creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable waterfront, participants worked together to remove wastes and implement preventive measures to minimize future littering.
The harbor clean-up serves as a vital step toward Manila Bay's long-term rehabilitation and is an inspiring example of collective action in preserving the nation’s natural resources.
