CDD Chief Martin Porres B. Moral presiding the Regional CSO Organizational Meeting

The DILG Region III hosted the recent Regional Civil Society Organization (CSO) Organizational Meeting last January 23, 2015, at the DILG Region 3, Conference Room, Malikhain Street, Diosdado Macapagal Government Compound, Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Capability Development Divisions Chief Martin Porres B. Moral, in behalf of Regional Director Florida M. Dijan, commenced the meeting by acknowledging the participation of 30 individuals representing various bodies and sectors of the society. Attendees include: the DILG Regional Coordinator (RC) and Community Mobilizers (CM); NAPC Provincial Focal Persons; and, LPRAT Co-Chairpersons and signatories.
In the meeting, CM of Pampanga and Angeles Nicanor A. Soriano shared that they, all the other CMs and RC Avelino Aparente, devised a 6-month CSO action plan. Mr. Soriano shared some, namely: the accreditation on the Lokal na Sanggunian; CSO capability development training; development of the Citizen’s Lead Monitoring Project (CLMP); and, the establishment of a Regional CSO.

RC Aparente then stressed that the previous year 2014 had the most CSO participation in Central Luzon. He also informed that it was first-time for LPRAT to accept non-registered bodies in the meetings, orientations, and activities.

Meanwhile, the meeting aimed to establish a line of Ad Hoc Officers to properly and formally represent the CSO Regional Officers. The will-be-elected officers will carefully plan the activities of coalesced CSOs in Central Luzon for the next 6 months.
The assembly was ended with Chief Moral’s words, “In behalf of RD Dijan, sana matapos ang layunin talaga ng CSO pagdating sa mga direktiba ng gobyerno. The bottom line here is to help the anti-poverty program of the administration. All we, the DILG family, need is commitment from the CSO. There is effectiveness in volume and numbers. Remember, number is power. Let us encourage other CSOs and other NGOs to participate. Kaya nga ‘makialam’ diba? Thank you for sharing the passion of helping the nation by heart.”
