
Dipaculao, Aurora – A total of 80 former rebels and their supporters formally withdrew their support from communist terrorist groups (CTGs) and pledged allegiance to the government in a ceremony held on March 13, 2025, at the Mega Evacuation Center in Barangay Ipil, Dipaculao, Aurora.

The event, spearheaded by the 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion in collaboration with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), was attended by DILG Aurora Provincial Director Ener P. Cambronero, alongside representatives from various national government agencies and local government units. In his message, Director Cambronero emphasized the government’s commitment to reintegration and peacebuilding efforts. He highlighted the provision of valuable programs and services, such as the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP), to help the former rebels reintegrate into society. Likewise, the local officials and partner agencies present commended the courage of the former rebels and their supporters in making the life-changing decision to abandon insurgency and work toward lasting peace in the province.

A key highlight of the program was the signing of the Oath of Allegiance, symbolizing the former rebel’s commitment to abandon armed struggle and embrace lawful and peaceful means to improve their lives. Additionally, the burning of the flags of the CPP-NPA-NDF took place, demonstrating their rejection of the CTG’s ideology.
The activity underscored the government’s dedication to resolving armed conflict through inclusive governance and holistic approach. With ongoing efforts from both national agencies and local government units, the province of Aurora is steadily moving toward a future free from insurgency, where communities can thrive in peace and progress.
