DILG Aurora advocates for a healthier and drug-free community and clean environment through the conduct of “Plogging: Kalusugan ay Unahin, Kapaligiran ay Linisin!” at Butas na Bato, Dingalan, Aurora on January 24, 2025.
Plogging is derived from the Swedish words "plocka upp" (to pick up) and "jogging," hence, the word plogging which basically means jogging while picking up litter.
With a unique blend of physical exercise and environmental activism and/or stewardship, the DILG Aurora conceptualized the program to foster bayanihan and/or community engagement, promote environmental protection and waste management, promote physical fitness and mental well-being, and serve as a drug prevention campaign strategy.
To further the reach of plogging movement in Aurora, PD Ener P. Cambronero, DILG Provincial Director, in his message, encourages the participants to consider the adoption and refinement of this innovation in their respective organizations and communities.
Engr. John Mark N. Orlasan, ABE/OIC MENRO, representing the Municipal Government of Dingalan, highlights the significance and connection of having a clean environment to a person's overall well-being.
Also, present during the activity are the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Officials of Butas na Bato and personnel of local PNP and BFP who actively participate and pledge their commitment to support the implementation of this program.
