To continuously sustain an enabling environment among and between member Agencies, component local government units (LGUs), and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that synergize efforts against criminality, illegal drugs, insurgency, and violent extremism, the 2nd Quarter Joint Meeting of Aurora’s Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and the Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) was held today at Provincial Capitol, Baler, Aurora.

Key highlights of the activity included the comprehensive presentations of PNP, BFP, PCG, DILG, PDEA, and AFP regarding the overall peace and order and public safety situation encompassing the illegal drugs abuse, maritime safety, and insurgency situation in the province, status of implementation of programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), and proposed resolutions to address pressing problems and/or issues within the province.

Moreover, the DILG Aurora presented the results of the Provincial and Municipal POC and ADAC Performance Audits and underscored the notable strength of councils and the areas that are in need of further improvement. The DILG Aurora also reiterated the roles and responsibilities of the LGU and ADAC in the implementation of a year-round, consistent, and sustained PPAs, which are aimed towards the operationalization and institutionalization of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program pursuant to DILG MC No. 2023-025. Corollary, concerned members were encouraged to conduct activities in support of the BIDA Program and submit monthly accomplishment reports.

Lastly, the meeting resulted in the approval of a joint resolution which strongly urge the DPWH-Aurora and Municipal LGUs of Aurora to enjoin and strictly monitor the compliance of private construction firms implementing government projects within their jurisdiction in securing necessary permits/clearances from concerned national and local offices pursuant to the provisions of the National Building Code and other pertinent laws and regulations. Likewise, the PTF-ELCAC was successfully reorganized to facilitate societal inclusivity and active participation in addressing local communist problems towards sustainable peace.448495771 1203811447276757 7601336432755422936 n
