The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conducted a 3-day Seminar-Workshop on the Formulation of Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) on May 22-24, 2017 at Vista Marina Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone to scale up the capacity of the LGU officials and functionaries in local development planning.
The activity was attended by officials and functionaries from the municipalities of Candelaria, Castillejos, Iba, Masinloc, Palauig, San Marcelino and Sta. Cruz.
LGOO V Jayson Jumaquio, OIC-Assistant Division Chief of the Capability Development Division of DILG Region III shared his expertise in the formulation of the said plan.
PD Armi V. Bactad in her closing message reiterated the importance of the formulation of the plan for every LGU. She also recognized the effort and commitment of the participants to the activity, calling them as agents of change.
The CDP is one of the major plans mandated under the Local Government Code of 1991 that serves as the local government unit’s road map to progress and development. It contains the strategic plans for five development sectors namely social, environment, economic, institution and infrastructure.
Likewise, Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) was discussed giving emphasis to the importance of mainstreaming and integration of Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA) in the preparation of the LGU’s development plan.
