The provincial launch of the MASA-MASID Program was conducted through the collaborative efforts of DILG Zambales headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad and the Zambales Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Amor D. Deloso on November 4, 2016 at the Zambales Training and Conference Center, Iba, Zambales.
Invited guests includes DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan, DPA, CESO III, Office of the Governor Representative Atty. Izelle Iamly Deloso, Office of the Vice Governor Representative Mr. Laurence Edano, PSSupt. Christopher J. Mateo, PDEA Representative Christian De Honor, Municipal Mayors, LNB Regional President Romelino R. Gojo, members of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and Provincial Peace and Order Council, Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents, MLGOOs, Chiefs of Police, representatives of the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), representatives of the Faith Based Organizations/Interfaith Groups, Media and other CSOs in the Province.
RD Dijan in her keynote speech, congratulated the Province of Zambales for the successful conduct of the Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA-MASID) Program launch. She emphasized the cooperation of all sectors aside from the local officials in the promotion, implementation and monitoring of the MASA-MASID Program.
“Ang mabuting pamamahala ay hindi dapat monopolya lang ng iilan, ito ay dapat produkto ng sama-samang pagkilos” said RD Dijan.
She also encouraged everyone to be the kind of people who make things happen to ensure the success of the program. “Tayo ay dapat makiisa, makialam at makilahok ng walang hinihintay na kapalit o bayad” said RD Dijan.
MASA MASID Is a barangay based anti-criminality, anti-corruption and anti-illegal drugs program which encourages multi-sectoral partnership through volunteerism. This is through the creation of the MASA MASID teams that will advocate programs pursuing community based rehabilitation in each affected barangays.
On behalf of Honorable Governor Amor D. Deloso, Atty. Izelle Iamly P. Deloso delivered a message of support. She stated that everyone has a role to play in our war on drugs and had quoted “I am only one; but I am still one. I cannot do everything; but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something I can do”. She also asked for everyone to take this matter seriously and said that the provincial government will not only provide financial support but also continuously advocate the program in coordination with the DILG.
The event ended with the signing of the Pledge of Commitment by the participants.
