To further strengthen emergency preparedness of its workforce, DILG Nueva Ecija, through the initiative of Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, Provincial Director, successfully conducted the “Equal Hands, Saving Lives: A GAD-Focused First Aid and Basic Life Support Training” on December 11, 2025 at the Liga ng mga Barangay Conference Hall, Cabanatuan City.
A total of 32 personnel participated in the activity, which aimed to equip them with essential knowledge and hands-on skills in administering life-saving and first aid techniques during emergencies. The said training covered critical competencies such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid management, and proper handling of emergency situations.
Anchored on a Gender and Development (GAD) perspective, the activity emphasized the importance of equal participation and shared responsibility ensuring that all personnel, regardless of gender, are capable and empowered to respond properly during emergencies.
The initiative was conducted in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Cabanatuan City and the Cabanatuan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) which facilitated practical demonstrations and simulations.
