The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Ecija, under the leadership of Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, conducted the Provincial Hands-On Training on the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS). The activity gathered pilot barangays from all cities and municipalities across the province.
- The one-day training aimed to enhance the participants’ technical know-how in utilizing the BIMS modules, including:
- Inhabitant Profiling System
- Katarungang Pambarangay Information System
- Issuance Management System
- Barangay Website Module
- Barangay Helpdesk System
- Barangay Ticketing System
In his opening message, LGOO VII Louie C. Manarpiis, Ph.D., Cluster II Team Leader, emphasized the critical role of BIMS in strengthening barangay governance. LGOO VII Manarpiis also encouraged the participants to fully utilize the system and champion innovation in their respective communities.
- The series of technical sessions were facilitated by the BIMS Regional Training Team, composed of:
- DA Daniel S. Pamintuan – Inhabitant Profiling System
- ISA I Jay Vee G. Gregorio – Katarungang Pambarangay Information System
- ISA I Earl Norwin A. Layug – Issuance Management System Module
- ISA I Joel L. Daduyo – Barangay Helpdesk System Module
- ISA I John Joseph B. Yee – Barangay Ticketing System
The activity concluded with a closing message delivered by LGOO VI Donnabel E. Estipular, Program Manager of DILG Nueva Ecija.
In her message, LGOO VI Estipular commended the participants for their active engagement and underscored the importance of embracing digital tools like BIMS to modernize local governance. LGOO V Angelyn B. De Guzman, Finance and Administrative Section Chief, served as the activity facilitator.
Through this initiative, DILG Nueva Ecija continues its commitment to advancing digital transformation at the grassroots level, ensuring that barangays are equipped with efficient tools for data-driven governance and improved citizen service delivery.
