The Department of the Interior and Local Governance - Nueva Ecija under the leadership of Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, successfully held the Provincial Orientation on the 2025 BEST Barangay (Building Excellence in Service and Transparency for Barangay) via Zoom, with active participation from barangay officials across the province.
Program Manager LGOO VI Donnabel E. Estipular gave the participants her insights and key message about the said orientation. LGOO V Kristian Rob D. Santiago discussed the overview and emphasized the importance of the barangays’ participation in the 2025 BEST Barangay while LGOO VI Leovielyn H. Aduna discussed the new Regional Memorandum Circular 2025-029 and the guidelines for implementing the CY 2025 BEST for Barangay.
The six governance areas were tackled by the provincial focal persons—LGOO II Angelique M. Gaspar, LGOO V Kristian Rob D. Santiago, LGOO II Annalyn D. Tamondong, LGOO II Millicent Kaye I. Velasquez, LGOO VI Leovielyn H. Aduna, and LGOO II Maria Desserie P. Bundoc—highlighting Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Safety, Peace and Order, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, and Environmental Management.
The BEST for Barangay is a performance assessment and recognition system that seeks to identify barangays with exemplary performance across core governance areas. It likewise aims to inspire continuous improvement in the delivery of efficient, equitable, and quality public services, with integrity and good governance as the cornerstone of meaningful local autonomy and development.
