Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija | September 17, 2025 – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Ecija, under the leadership of Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, spearheaded the conduct of the Provincial Table Validation for the 2025 Local Legislative Award (LLA) at the DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Office, Old Capitol Compound, Cabanatuan City.
The activity convened the Provincial Awards Committee (PAC) to rigorously review, verify, and validate the legislative performance of the 32 local government units in the province. This collaborative effort ensured that local legislative measures were assessed according to the highest standards of excellence, innovation, and good governance. Present during the validation were Hon. Melvin S. Pascual (Member, Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines – Provincial Chapter), Hon. Lance Jarwin A. Santos (President, Philippine Councilors League – Provincial Chapter), Budget Officer II Jannette Supan of the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija, Agriculturist Lucita S. Dela Cruz of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and Ms. Emily E. Garubo of Outreach Philippines, Inc. The Provincial Table Validation formed part of the selection process for outstanding local legislation that promotes innovation, transparency, and effective governance across the province.
After thorough deliberation, the following were declared as Regional Nominees for the 2025 LLA:
Science City of Muñoz – Component City Category
Municipality of San Antonio – 1st–3rd Class Municipalities Category
Municipality of Llanera – 4th–6th Class Municipalities Category
The Local Legislative Award serves as a performance assessment and recognition system that highlights outstanding local legislative bodies for their exemplary contributions in advancing innovation, transparency, and effective governance. It aims to encourage legislative councils to continuously improve, innovate, and deliver equitable, efficient, and quality public services—anchored on integrity and meaningful local autonomy as drivers of growth and progress.
