LGSF Utilization Status

 

DILG Region 3, with the assistance of the Local Government Academy, assessed Knowledge Management (KM) practices of its LGRRC stakeholders through the conduct of the KM External Audit held on March 27, 2012 at DILG Region III Conference Room, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.  The activity was participated in by representatives from BFP, PNP, NEDA, DTI, DENR, DepEd, CSC, LGUs and State University and Colleges (SUCs).  Said participants were identified as major service providers along the areas of governance based on the LGPMS which are administrative, social, economic, and environmental governance.

RD Florida M. Dijan received a Plaque of Recognition from the Municipality of Minalin, Pampanga on March 22, 2012 in honor of her contributions as a servant leader and an outstanding representation of women in public service.  The plaque was awarded by Mayor Arturo L. Naguit on the occasion of the municipality’s commemoration of the International Women’s Month with the theme, “Women Weathering Climate Change: Governance and Accountability, Everyone’s Responsibility”.  Also recognized were Lady Punong Barangays as well as other women of Minalin who excelled in their professions.  

The municipality conducted said awarding by virtue of Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 2012-14 entitled, “Giving Recognition to Women in the Community with Various Contributions in Local Governance.”

RD Dijan, in her message, commended the efforts of Mayor Naguit for being an SGH recipient which is a manifestation of the values of transparency and accountability towards achieving better local governance in Minalin.

RD Dijan likewise visited the Sangguniang Bayan’s Office of Minalin to know the status of implementation of the Sanggunian Information System (SIS) installed by DILG in February of this year.  

 

   Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - 3 Regional Director Florida M. Dijan warmly expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the American Chamber of Commerce for donating training equipment to the regional office.  These equipment will be used in order to effectively provide capability building interventions to Local Government Units as well as in enhancing organizational needs of DILG personnel. 

    “On behalf of DILG R-3, I wish to convey my thanks to AmCham Foundation through Atty. Arnaldo Cariño and Program Manager Maria Delia Hilario for facilitating the approval of our proposal and the procurement of the equipment”, RD Dijan said in a simple turn over ceremony held on March 14, 2012 at the DILG Regional Office 3.

    The American Chamber Foundation serves as the socio-civic arm of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines member companies, which is a private, independent, non profit association dedicated to the promotion and development of trade, commerce and industry of the United States of America in and with the Republic of the Philippines.  The AmCham cultivates friendly relations between American and Filipinos, and facilitates the coordination of American business efforts geared to the Philippine nation’s progress. 

     The DILG 3 Regional Office was given equipment such as laptop, printer, portable sound system, LCD projector and screen amounting to P150,000. 

    The turn over ceremony was witnessed by DILG-3 Assistant Regional Director Jonathan Paul Leusen, Jr., FAD Chief Anita Adriano, MED OIC Chief Lerrie Hernandez, CDD OIC Assistant Chief Martin Porres, BPLS regional and provincial focal persons and other regional office personnel.        

   

 

DSWD Region III, thru Regional Director Adelina Apostol, awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to DILG Region III on the occasion of the 61st DSWD Anniversary celebration with the theme, “DSWD @ 61 Tuloy sa Kaunlaran”, held on February 6, 2012 at DSWD Field Office III, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The award was given in grateful appreciation of DILG’s support in the implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Central Luzon particularly in encouraging the Local Government Units to incorporate pro-poor programs in their plans and budget, accessing the resources that allows LGU to upgrade basic health and education facilities and in its active participation in monitoring and evaluating the program implementation at the barangay level.

The award was received by RD Florida M. Dijan and ARD Jonathan Paul M. Leusen, Jr. also in the event of the conduct of Unified Flag Raising Ceremony of all government agencies in the region hosted by DSWD.

After the awarding, RD Dijan and ARD Leusen attended the Briefing on R.A. 9208, otherwise known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 where the Resolution on “Establishing and Adopting the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women Cum Regional Referral Network was signed by the RIACAT-VAWC members including DILG.

 

 The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 3 and the Province of Tarlac entered into a Memorandum of Commitment (MOC) for the mainstreaming of the Regular Barangay Clean Up in the Province of Tarlac as an expansion of the Manila Bay Clean Up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Project. The activity was conducted on January 31, 2012 in coordination with DILG Tarlac and was incorporated in the Infrastructure Development Planning Workshop of the Provincial Government at Hotel Stotsenberg, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

 The MOC was forged by Governor Victor A. Yap of the Province of Tarlac, all City/Municipal Mayors headed by LMP-Tarlac Chapter President Dennis Norman T. Go and Regional Director Florida M. Dijan of DILG R3. Also present during the event was DILG Tarlac Provincial Director Dennis D. Villaseñor, OIC-MED Chief Lerrie S. Hernandez, members of the Vice-Mayors League and City/Municipal Planning and Development Officers (C/MPDOs).

With the growing concern of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council of the City of San Fernando to address the occurrence of natural disasters and calamities, the City of San Fernando had requested the DILG Region III to provide the necessary technical assistance in coordination with appropriate National Government Agencies involved in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, in the formulation and completion of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Code. Said Code will be based on Republic Act 10101.
