The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III conducted a Trainers’ Training of the Good Practices in Local Governance: Facility for Adaptation and Replication   (GO-FAR) on September 19-20, 2012 at the DILG Regional Office III Conference Room.

DILG R-3 Regional Director Florida M. Dijan in her message encouraged the participants to come up with documented good practices of their respective Local Government Units for replication of other LGUs.  She likewise mentioned the importance of informing the public of what the DILG is doing.

On the other hand, DILG R-3 Assistant Regional Director Abraham A. Pascua said that it is important to seriously implement the GO-FAR project considering the benefits that it may give to the LGUs.  Furthermore, he stated that Central Luzon has many good practices which only need to be documented for others to replicate.

Regional and provincial GO-FAR teams of this region together with the representatives from San Luis, Aurora attended the training which was facilitated by BLGD-LADD Division Chief Susita G. Bulawit.  The two-day training aims to provide the teams with new knowledge on GO-FAR, criteria of a good practice, replication concepts, processes/guidelines, and additional skills in writing replicable good practices in local governance.

Five modules were presented through a lecture/discussion. Each module helped the trainers develop their skills on how to replicate and/or document the good practices of LGUs. After which the participants had undergone workshops, wherein each team were tasked to write a good practice of an LGU in their respective areas. Likewise, they were tasked to create advocacy materials for social marketing. This activity empowers the capacities of LGUs to replicate good practices and become models for other LGUs. Lastly, each GO-FAR team went through action planning for the full-blown documentation of their LGU good practice.
