   The Department of the Interior and Local Government is currently validating all 137 Local Government Units (LGUs) in Central Luzon which are vying for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). The SGLG or Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal, which originated from the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) program in 2010 aims to provide greater challenge to LGUs to carry on the practice of good governance while providing better services to their constituents.  

  

   To provide the end-users essential hands-on information on how to make the full use of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) application system, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III conducted the Training-Workshop on the Updated Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) Web Application System last May 13 -14, 2014 held at Oxford Hotel, Clark Special Economic Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga.  The activity was attended by the 7 PCF Provincial Focal Persons and concerned Cluster Team Leaders. LGOO IV Joselito Magumun of BLGD and ITO I Nikko Madrilejos of ISTMS provided technical assistance and shared their expertise as Resource Speakers in the activity.

  The Department of the Interior and Local Government- Region III in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women conducted a Roll-Out Seminar-Workshop on the Localization of the Magna Carta of Women on May 7-9, 14-16 and 21-23, 2014 at Oxford Hotel, Clark, Pampanga.

   DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan welcomed the participants and discussed the DILG Framework and the department’s role in mainstreaming gender and development. “The Department’s goal is to make all LGUs sustainable development-oriented which can be achieved if all LGUs practice self-reliance”, she said.

    Localization of the Magna Carta of Women is under the Program Outcome Socially-Protective and Safe LGUs.  “I believe that Region 3 is one of the first to conduct this kind of activity. In the past three years, LGUs are receiving audit observations on the utilization of LGU GAD Funds. Through this activity, our Resource Persons will give you the most palatable and most acceptable inputs and information which would be very useful to be able to craft the LGU GAD Plan and Budget. The COA observations prompted the department to come up with this kind of activity. Let’s collaborate and put our minds and hearts in this activity”, RD Dijan added.

   The roll-out seminar-workshop was attended by 380 participants representing 114 Local Government Units in Region III which were capacitated in coming up with a gender-responsive plan and budget for 2015.

 

 

 

  

   In keeping with the national government’s development agenda to empower LGUs, DILG Region 3 conducted an Orientation-Workshopon the Crafting of Ordinance and Resolution and Preparation of the State of Barangay Governance Report (SBGR) using the Enhanced Barangay Governance Performance Management System (BGPMS) on April 28-30, 2014 at Oxford Hotel, Clarkfield, Pampanga.The activity, dubbed as, “Taking Steps in Building a Corps of Good Governance Champions”, was attended by 273 participants composed of 258 barangay officials mainly Punong Barangays and 8 DILG Officers.

   Local Government Units of Central Luzon gathered once again for the 8th Recognition of Outstanding Central Luzon LGUs Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor’s Permit on April 21, 2014 at the Fontana Convention Center, Clarkfield Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

    Committed to ensure the integrity and credibility of the implementation of the     Local Governance Performance Management System - Seal of Good Local Governance (LGPMS-SGLG), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 3 thru the LG Monitoring and Evaluation Division conducted an Orientation/Briefing on LGPMS-SGLG last May 5, 2014 at the Royal Hotel, Angeles City.
