The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Nueva Ecija Provincial Office, under the leadership of Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V, spearheaded a back-to-back training-workshop on the formulation of the three-year Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan. In line with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2011-24, City and Municipal Peace and Order Councils are mandated to craft their POPS Plans, which shall be integrated into their Comprehensive Development Plans.
Generously hosting the activity were Hon. Emary Joy D. Pascual, Mayor of Gapan City for Cluster 1 (Districts 1 & 4) and Hon. Viandrei Nicole J. Cuevas, Mayor of Palayan City for Cluster 2 (Districts 2 & 3).
Throughout the training, participants engaged in six intensive workshops that covered: reviewing local strategic directions; assessing peace and order and public safety situations; identifying and prioritizing key challenges; setting objectives, strategies, targets, and indicators; translating goals into policies, programs, and activities; and determining funding requirements.
The POPS Plan formulated by the Peace and Order Council serves as a strategic roadmap to enhance peace, security, and public safety—ultimately improving the quality of life of Novo Ecijanos.
