The Department of the Interior and Local Government Nueva Ecija initiated conducting an orientation on RA 11032, otherwise known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, on October 4, 2023, via Zoom Platform. The activity started with a welcome remarks given by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V. He mentioned that the activity aims to refresh the knowledge and capabilities of the LGU functionaries for the upcoming EODB Audit to be conducted to measure the overall compliance of the LGUs with RA 11032 and the policies and capacity development provided to them. Topics that were discussed during the orientation were the salient provisions of RA 11032, Process on ReEngineering, Creation of CART, Rationalization of Fees and Charges, Adoption of PalengkeQR in the LGU, and Streamlined Guidelines for the Issuance of Permits for the Construction of Shared Passive Telecommunications Tower Infrastructure (PTTIs). Said activity aims to refresh all cities in the province to the provisions and standards set by Republic Act No. 11032 and other relevant programs. The activity was participated by CLGOOs, members of the Committee on Anti-Red Tape Art (CART)/Regulatory Reform Team (RRT), and other concerned LGU functionaries. #Uhay???? #TresTheBest

PGNE LAB4ALL 1

First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos visited the province to lead the conduct of “Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat” or LAB for ALL on October 03, 2023, a program which aims to bring health services by providing free laboratory consultation, laboratory services and medicines to every #LABForAllFilipino. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Provincial Government, led by the Honorable Governor Aurelio M. Umali, and partner national government agencies such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Agriculture (DA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). Approximately 1,500 beneficiaries in Nueva Ecija benefited from free health care services through the LABforAll program. A dental mission was conducted where the PNP, BFP and BJMP administered fluoride treatments to the students of Atate Elementary School at Palayan City. On the other hand, the DOH deployed approximately 90 physicians and 100 nurses to address the medical needs of beneficiaries. Free consultation services and various medical treatments such as electrocardiogram (ECG), X-ray, blood tests, and simple surgeries were provided. Moreover, Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center distributed free medicines. Further, the beneficiaries received food packs from the DSWD, seedlings from DA, and various services from TESDA. Furthermore, the Provincial Government provided meals to the attendees. Alongside the First Lady were Atty. Odilon L. Pasaraba, CESO III, Undersecretary for Project Development Management, Atty. On June 23, 2021, the Nueva Ecija Provincial Peace, and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) successfully conducted its 1st Quarter Joint Meeting via Zoom meeting application.

 

Governor Aurelio M. Umali, Chairperson of these local special bodies, presided over the meeting. The said meeting was attended by regular members of the councils, including the National Government Agencies (NGAs) and the accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Department Heads of the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija.

 

In his opening message, Governor Umali stated that the purpose of the meeting is in compliance with the provisions of the Local Government Code as the local special bodies were mandated to conduct the meetings. He also mentioned that the election has just been concluded and is about to get a fresh start. As he said, "Everybody is expected to readily start with the programs and projects to serve our respective constituencies."

 

Thereafter, the updates on the CY 2021 POC Provincial Audit Results, Peace and Order Situation, Barangay Drug Clearing, and community-based drug rehabilitation programs were presented by LGOO VI Alfa Krista C. Reyes, Program Manager of DILG Nueva Ecija, PMAJ Jeffrey S. Alivia, Chief Provincial Operations Management of NEPPO, IA3 Jenlyn R Abejuela of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Fr. Arnold M. Abelardo of Ako ang Saklay, respectively.

 

After all the presentations, Governor Umali thanked all the council members for their participation in the meeting.
