Another momentous event for Central Luzon will commence as Bagac, Bataan will host APEC 2015 delegates for the Workshop on Fiscal Management through Transparency and Reforms and Senior Officials’ Meeting (SFOM).

The group composed of 21 member economies in the Asia Pacific region will convene following the successful meeting in Boracay two weeks ago. This will be the 12th and 13th meetings out of the 31 APEC meetings scheduled on June 9 to 12, 2015 at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan, approximately 300 delegates will attend the series of technical working group meetings as well as the two-day senior officials meeting.

Bagac was chosen as host for this meeting as it boasts wonderful destination that promises clean, virgin water and amusing marine life. Also, the venue, Las Casas allows its visitors to time travel as it features a community of century old houses and infrastructures of the old Philippines bought from different parts of the country.

Being chosen as one of the APEC 2015 host is an opportunity for LGUs to showcase their tourism and business potentials to the APEC member countries.

To provide a conducive and peaceful environment and ensure wide support from local community for APEC 2015, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region III under the stewardship of Director Florida Dijan was designated as the Commander of Sub Task Group (STG) Community Relations. As STG Community Relations Commander, the DILGR3 has enjoined Central Luzon’s Local Chief Executives (LCEs) to ensure that specific measures are in place for for the successful conduct of APEC in Bagac, Bataan.

APEC Bagac talks are part of a series of APEC meetings culminating in the APEC Economic Leaders’ Summit to be held in Manila in November.
