To provide the end-users essential hands-on information on how to make the full use of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) application system, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III conducted the Training-Workshop on the Updated Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) Web Application System last May 13 -14, 2014 held at Oxford Hotel, Clark Special Economic Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga.  The activity was attended by the 7 PCF Provincial Focal Persons and concerned Cluster Team Leaders. LGOO IV Joselito Magumun of BLGD and ITO I Nikko Madrilejos of ISTMS provided technical assistance and shared their expertise as Resource Speakers in the activity.

   Assistant Regional Director Abraham Pascua, in his welcome remarks, mentioned the visit of Sec. Mar Roxas in the province of Nueva Ecija last April 25, 2014 wherein one of the highlights of the activity was the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) projects in the province. Using the project map, the PCF projects in Nueva Ecija were presented to Sec. Roxas which he appreciated. ARD Pascua stated that DILG Region III is on the right track towards innovation like the use of the PCF web application in monitoring the Department’s projects.   

   ITO I Melerie G. Pineda emphasized the importance of the workshop since the PCF web application will be the official platform for the submission of PCF reports during her presentation of the overview of the activity.   

   Highlights of the activity were the presentation of updates on the implementation of 2012 and 2013 Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) in Region III by LGOO II Lee Allen B. Pineda, discussion of the PCF website’s objective by LGOO IV Joselito Magumun, and hands-on coaching on the different functions and features of the system by ITO I Nikko Madrilejos.

 

    The activity was further highlighted by the distribution of Pocket WiFi and 16 GB flash drive per province to facilitate their PCF online reporting.

    

    At the end of the activity, the participants were asked to craft their respective action plan on the PCF web uploading/reporting and monitoring on their 2013 PCF projects.

   In his closing message, CDD Chief Moral encouraged all the participants on the timely submission of reports thru the PCF web application.  He also extended his gratitude to the participants for their continuous support and cooperation in the implementation of PCF in the region.

   The Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) website was launched to promote transparency in the implementation of projects under PCF, encourage participation of the citizenry in monitoring and institute a mechanism for on-line reporting and evaluation of projects.
