Clark Freeport Zone--DILG Central Luzon hosted the awarding and recognition of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) aptly entitled ‘Pagpupugay sa Bayani ng Bansang Makabayan’ yesterday, June 10 at Royce Hotel Clark, Pampanga. Louise Araneta-Marcos, First Lady of the Republic of the Philippines, served as Guest of Honor while Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Atty. Benjamin Abalos Jr. and Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Pineda graced the event to award the assistance from the CSBP to the beneficiaries of fallen police and military members.
Officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police who were killed and wounded in police and military operations were recognized during the event whose beneficiaries were awarded with various assistance ranging from scholarship grants from the National Police Commission and Armed Forces of the Philippine Educational Benefits Office, house and lot titles from the National Housing Authority, and special financial assistance. The assistance, ranging from immediate and long-term support, are awarded to the affected families with hopes in aiding them in their journey towards healing and normalization of their lives after the loss or incapacitation of their primary breadwinners.
“Ang ginawa po ng inyong mga pamilya ay siguraduhing makakatulog ang bawat Pilipino ng payapa sa gabi,” Secretary Abalos states as he recognized the unwavering service and unmatched bravery of the soldiers and policemen in performing their sworn duties to maintain public safety.
In attendance are the beneficiaries of the CSBP across the nation including those from the National Capital Region, Regions 1, 2, 3, IV-A, IV-B, 8, 9, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
CSBP is a social benefits assistance program under the DILG that was institutionalized in 2020 which covers military and police personnel who were killed in legitimate action or operation and their qualified beneficiaries.
