The DILG-Angeles City, as the head of the Board of Election Supervisor (BES), spearheaded the Angeles City Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon Election on November 14 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.

DILG-City Director Yvette R. Cosio, BES Chairperson, urged the SK Fed officers to institute programs in support to the vision of the City Government. "As public officials, you are expected to assist the government in finding solutions to the issues, especially those concerning the youth. You need to ensure that your youth development plan is aligned to the plans of the City Government," said CD Cosio during her message.

Prior to the election proper, CD Cosio and BES Members Election Officer Leonelle Yalung and Sangguninang Panlungsod Secretary Mark Philip Lumboy oriented the SK Chairpersons on the Duties and Functions of the SK Pederasyon, Internal Rules of Procedure, Sessions, and SK Fed Election Policies. After the orientation, the 33 SK Chairpersons of Angeles elected their Pederasyon Officers.

Unopposed, Richard Gaza Jr. of Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios had been elected as the SK Pederasyon President. Among the newly elected SK Fed Officers are Vice President Dennis Duya of Barangay Cutcut, Secretary Janet Phoemela David of Barangay Lourdes Sur, Treasurer Verano Conese of Barangay Lourdes Sur East, Auditor Aron Timbol of Barangay Cuayan, Public Relations Officer Axcel John Tanhueco of Barangay Pulungbulu and Sergeant-At-Arms John Lloyd Bati of Barangay San Nicolas.

Officially assuming their positions, the new SK Pederasyon Officers took their oath before Angeles City Mayor Carmelo G. Lazatin, Jr. pledging their commitment to perform their duties as youth leaders of Angeles.

"I need your help," said City Mayor Lazatin to the SK Pederasyon. "I am expecting you to know the issues of the youth and help the City Government in providing solutions. If you have problems, the City Government is here to assist you. Let us help one another."
