The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Olongapo City conducted an orientation on the enhanced criteria and guidelines for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) on March 17, 2023. The activity was held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall and was attended by the Lupon Secretaries and Lupon Members of the 17 barangays of Olongapo City.
During the activity, LGOO VI Fernando M. Erese Jr. of DILG Olongapo discussed the key changes of LTIA from the previous guidelines, which include new point allocation for each indicator, new means of verification, and the minimum requirement of 10 cases processed within the assessment period to qualify for the award. He also presented a short history of LTIA, tips on documenting LTIA entry, and the indicative schedule for this year's LTIA implementation.
The activity ended with a Q&A forum which served as an avenue for the Lupon Secretaries and Lupon Members to ask questions and clarify concerns regarding the program and the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) process as well.
The LTIA is an annual awards program that recognizes the most outstanding lupon that have demonstrated exceptional performance in resolving disputes using KP at the barangay level. Aside from recognition, the winning lupon shall receive a cash incentive which they may use for further improving their services.
