Sangguniang Panlungsod-accredited civil society organizations (CSOs) in Olongapo City selected CSO representatives to the Local Special Bodies (LSBs) of the city at the SMX Olongapo City Convention Center on September 14, 2022.
The activity, facilitated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Olongapo City and the city's CSO Desk Office, was attended by 15 out of the 25 accredited CSOs in the city.
Director Amada Dumagat led the selection for members of the City Development Council (CDC), City School Board (CSB), and City Health Board (CHB), and garnered the recommended peacekeeping organizations for the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) from the present CSOs.
After the selection, CSO Desk Officer Jocelyn Pascual-NiƱonuevo led the group of CSOs in electing officers for the proposed Olongapo City People's Council.
The selected CSOs were also oriented by DILG Olongapo regarding their roles as members of LSBs.
A joint organizational meeting with CDC, CSB, CHB and CPOC will be initiated by the mayor within the 3rd week of September to finalize composition of the LSBs of Olongapo City.
