The Department of Interior and Local Government Central Luzon through the Manila Bay Clean-up Rehabilitation and Preservation Program spearheaded the conduct of the 2021 Manila Bayani Awards and Incentives last March 23, 2022
Through this ceremony, the local government units (LGUs) were recognized for their undeniable efforts in the area of environmental management and exemplary performance that made them stand out among the rest.
Balanga City, Bataan and Municipality of Baliwag, Bulacan reigned as the Regional Winners for city and municipal category for the 2021 LGU Compliance Assessment. Each LGU was awarded with a plaque of recognition and 300,000 pesos.
Brgy. Lote Pto. Rivas, Balanga City, Bataan and Brgy. Pinagbarilan, Baliwag, Bulacan bagged the Top Performing Barangay for the Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA) while Balanga City, Bataan was hailed as the Top Performing LGU for the Fisheries Compliance Audit. The aforementioned LGUs received 150,000 pesos each and a plaque of recognition.
The 2022 iterations of the advocacy for significant rehabilitation of the Manila Bay as part of the ongoing implementation of the mandamus, shall be conducted starting on April, 2022.
