The DILG Pampanga recognized the performance of outstanding LGUs in various areas of governance in an online advocacy campaign on the Mandanas-Garcia ruling cum awarding ceremony dubbed as TALAKAD: Pagtindig at Pagtugon sa Hamon ng Debolusyon held on December 14, 2021

    The activity, which is anchored on the implementation of the Mandanas-Garcia ruling, focused on the linkage of the DILG thrusts to the LGUs' Full Devolution. To this, several discussions were made on the role of the Department as Capacity Developer and Performance Monitor.

    Likewise, the activity served as a venue to recognize LGUs that showed outstanding performance in the DILG-led assessments and audits for this year. More than 400 local governments ranging from barangays, cities, and municipalities were feted based on the results of the said assessments.
Several Civil Society Organizations and LGU partners were also awarded a certificate of appreciation for their continuous support and commitment in the implementation of various programs of the Department.

In her message, PD Myrvi Apostol-Fabia commended the local governments for bravely standing up to the challenge of local governance especially now that the Mandanas-Garcia ruling is set to commence. She also assured them of the DILG's guidance in fully realizing local autonomy.

"Marami man po tayong hinarap ay hindi pa po nagtatapos dito ang ating mga tungkulin. Sa susunod na mga panahon ay haharap tayo sa mas maraming pagbabago kaya umaasa kami na mananatili tayong dedikado sa ating mga gampanin. Sa lahat ng ating gagawin, lagi po nating piliin na mahalin at paglingkuran ang ating bayan", PD Fabia shared.
