Pampanga Barangay Officials attended the 3-day Province-Wide Roll-Out Training on Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SICAP-BADAC) as part of their commitment to provide a drug-free environment in the Province, via Zoom Platform on November 10-12, 2021.
To capacitate 505 barangays of the province and to enhance the skills, knowledge, and attitude of BADAC members in the performance of their duties and responsibilities as mandated by various national policies and laws, the DILG Pampanga spearheaded the online activity in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), National Youth Commission (NYC), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
PDEA's Information Officer Mr. Glenn Guillermo discussed about strengthening BADAC on Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and its documentary requirements. Atty. Aloi Renz Santos of CHR talked about human rights and gender sensitivity approaches on the performance of BADAC duties while Mr. Reyman Bimeda of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) tackled the child-friendly approach.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kevin Antonio Bumagat of DSWD explained the Family Drug Abuse Prevention Program (FDAPP) and the Special Drug Education Center (SDEC). Ms. Agnes N. Alipio of DOH expounded on Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program and the Science of Addiction.
Furthermore, Ms. Rose Chell Anne Rojas of NYC and Ms. Patria Ana Quines DSWD talked about the Drug Prevention and the roles of BADAC on Aftercare and Reintegration program respectively.
"Sikapin natin makamit ang 100 percent drug-cleared barangays sa buong probinsiya para matiyak natin na payapa at ligtas ang ating mga komunidad" said PD Myrvi Apostol-Fabia in her message.
Also gracing the event was LnB Provincial President Renato L. Mutuc who thanked the Punong Barangays and their BADAC members for participating in the said online activity.
