DILG Regional Office III, as the Chairperson of the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (RIMT), spearheaded the 2021 Functionality Assessment of Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) on October 27, 2021 via Zoom Cloud Meetings.
The main objective of the activity was to assess the functionality of LCAT-VAWC of seven (7) Provincial Government and two (2) HUCs of Region III for FY 2019 & 2020. The said assessment aims to establish a basis for policy and capacity development to strengthen the capability of LGUs in combatting TIP and eliminating VAWC.
The indicators of the functionality of LCAT-VAWC covers 10% for Organization, 10% for Meetings, 30% for Policies, Plans and Budget and 50% for Accomplishments.
In the opening message, LGOO VI Lee Allen B. Pineda cordially welcomed the members of the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (RIMT) and provided a brief overview of the activity. Meanwhile, LGOO V Cherina G. Quiñones gave a comprehensive discussion of the Memorandum Circular No. 2020-006 and facilitated the Functionality Assessment.
The members of the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (RIMT) is composed of representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Health (DOH), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or Civil Society Organization (CSO).
