DILG-Olongapo City joined Olongapo City's Bike for Peace and Justice on July 17 to condemn communist terrorist groups and the threats they pose to the country.

"Ito (Bike for Peace and Justice) ay para mag-create ng awareness sa maraming community para mapigilan na po natin ang atrocities na nangyayari sa ating bansa," said DILG-City Director Amada T. Dumagat during her message. "It is also to sustain our participation sa lahat ng mga programa ng pamahalaan lalong-lalo na sa ating peace and development.

CD Dumagat, together with Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) OIC-Director Jeric P. Villanueva, City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (CTF-ELCAC) Representative David Bayarong, spearheaded the ceremonial Covenant Signing at the Camp Lt Gen Manuel F. Cabal, Barretto to strengthen the commitment of all the participating National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, and other stakeholders to denounce the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

Gun starting at Camp Cabal, Subic, Zambales Mayor Jon Khongun, 160 bikers and 23 bikers' groups pedalled 17 kilometers to the endpoint, at Rizal Triangle, West Bajac-bajac to support the advocacy.

To ensure the observance of health protocols, police personnel were stationed at different turning points of the bike route.

Led by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), the Bike for Peace and Justice was conducted simultaneously nationwide as a social mobilization activity to strongly condemn the use of anti-personnel landmines, a violation of the International Humanitarian Law, and the brutal killing by the CPP-NPA of the Absalon Cousins in Masbate earlier this June 2021.
