DILG Region III aired its second episode of Talakayan Central Luzon via the DILG Central Luzon official Facebook page and Zoom online platform with the theme, "Gitnang Luzon COVID 19 Update, ating alamin, Pagtugon ng Lokal na Pamahalaan, ating talakayin".

 During the first segment of the activity, Department of Health Region III OIC-Regional Director Corazon Flores presented a comprehensive status of the Central Luzon COVID 19 update specifically on the total no. of cases, recoveries, deaths and fatality rate per province; age group and sex of affected patients; and vaccination program status in the region. She also shared important health protocol tips that should be observed at home, workplace and public places to avoid spread of the virus.

DILG-III Assistant Regional Director Jay Timbreza facilitated the discussion of the first and second segments of the activity while Project Development Officer Jairo Singian served as the host.

In the second segment of the activity, Mayor Eleonor D. Dominguez of Zambales shared their best practices and measures in handling the COVID 19 pandemic specifically in the mobilization of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs), provision of financial assistance to COVID 19 victims and implementation of effective communication strategies on the benefits of the vaccination program being conducted by the municipal government.

At the end of each segment, Director Flores and Mayor Dominguez answered and clarified questions of online viewers on the Region III COVID 19 update and LGU best practices in combatting the pandemic, respectively.

The Talakayan Central Luzon, which is being aired live via DILG Central Luzon official FB page and zoom platform, is a program which aims to inform and educate the general public on the various programs of the Department in maintaining and strengthening good local governance including the government's efforts against COVID-19.
