DILG R-III, in partnership with the Bureau of Local Government Development and the Anti-Red Tape Authority, spearheaded the conduct of the Online Roll-Out on the Repeal of Policies for Local Government Units (LGUs) on May 12, 2021 via Zoom Cloud Meetings.
The main objective of the activity was to orient the Local Government Units on the DILG-ARTA JMC No. 2019-01 entitled "Guidelines on the Regulatory Reform for LGUs Pursuant to the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery (EODB-EGSD) Act of 2018" and how to operationalize the Regulatory Reform Information System.
In her opening message, Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag encouraged the concept of replication of best practices in order to help enhance and improve the delivery of services of local government units.
On the other hand, ARD Jay E. Timbreza enjoined the LGUs thru his closing message to continually review, repeal and implement ordinances relative to the Ease of Doing Business in order to attract more investors and businesses to operate within the Region.
Highlights of the said activity were the discussion on Concepts and Methodology of Regulatory Reform for LGUs, orientation on the Committee on Anti-Red Tape, the overview of the Philippine Business Regulations Information System (PBRIS) & Anti-Red Tape Management System (ARTEMIS) and the walkthrough on the Regulatory Reform for LGUs Information System (RR4LGUsIS).
In attendance were the members of the Regulatory Reform Team & Committee on Anti-Red Tape, City/Municipal Local Government Operations Officers and Provincial EODB focal persons.
