Cabanatuan City – As the entire province remains under general community quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic, DILG Nueva Ecija conducted the Provincial Roll-Out on the Policy Guidelines of the FY 2020 Assistance to Municipalities (AM) and Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) Programs on August 27, 2020 via online. The activity aims to orient the municipalities, including the Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) on the FY 2020 AM and SALINTUBIG Programs' Policy Guidelines to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of Locally Funded Projects (LFPs).
As part of the General Appropriations Act (GAA) under FY 2020 Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), AM and SALINTUBIG Programs seek to equitably assist the municipalities in the delivery of basic services by providing financial subsidy to municipalities for the implementation of their projects and to provide capacity development to increase communities' access to potable water supply.
The activity tackled the salient features of the programs, particularly the components of the programs, types and eligible projects, and fund allocation and management. The participants were also oriented on their responsibilities and accountabilities under these programs. Questions and issues related to AM and SALINTUBIG Programs were addressed or clarified by the Locally Funded Projects (LFPs) Team of DILG Nueva Ecija and Regional Office – Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD)'s Project Development and Management Section (PDMS). The online activity, participated by municipal functionaries and MLGOOs, was also attended by the Municipal Mayor of Rizal.
