Forty four rebel returnees were presented today, November 11, 2019, to the Provincial Government thru the PNP PRO3 led by Regional Director PBGen Rhodel O. Sermonia during a press conference held at the Executive House attended by Governor Dennis G. Pineda, Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda, DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia and representatives from various national government agencies.
The former members of the communist terrorist group CPP-NPA who came from different provinces in Central Luzon have voluntarily surrendered and are ready to work and cooperate with the government to advance the country’s whole-of-nation approach to end insurgency and local armed conflict.
To facilitate their journey to a reformed life, they will receive various assistance from different national agencies including livelihood training from TESDA, medical assistance from DOH, counseling and financial assistance from PSWDO, and educational scholarship among other things.
As part of its E-CLIP program, the DILG will give them immediate assistance of P15k, and another P50k livelihood assistance after securing clearance from the PNP /AFP. PD Myrvi Fabia also said that the Department is working with other agencies to ensure a holistic approach to their reintegration back to society.
Meanwhile, Gov. Dennis Pineda assured the surrenderees of their safety and security, and added that the Provincial Government is open and ready to extend any assistance that they may need to start a new life. He also gave each one P15k immediate assistance that will help them in their day-to-day needs.
